As a way to recognize and thank Latino parishioners who served as volunteers, emergency personnel and essential workers during the pandemic, the Good Samaritan awards ceremony was held on October 23, 2021. Organized by the Consejo Hispano of the Archdiocese of Chicago, the event took place in the San Joseph Chapel of the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, in Des Plaines.
